Tyson is a 16.2hh, Dark Bay/Black, Thoroughbred/Percheron, who has just recently turned 2 years old, . Tyson is expected to finish 17.2 to 17.3hh. Tyson’s dam is a full Percheron mare and his sire is Hill of Slane, (Unreal Zeal x Irish Limerick) 1997 Reg. JC Thoroughbred stallion. Due to his age Tyson has been started lightly on his ground work and has had a saddle on a couple of times. He was still a little leery so we feel backing him should wait until the spring of 2008. Tyson currently halters and leads, backs up on command, moves over using a finger and a voice command. Tyson ties, clips, stands untied to be groomed, he can be handled anywhere, goes into a stall, trailers. He accepts a fly mask, fly spray, and worming. He is good for the vet and has been vet checked and is UTD with all of his vaccinations. Tyson has been taught his personal space, and leads quietly. He can walk and trot in his own space beside his handler. Average temperament for 2 years old, he still likes to play. He has excellent ground manners, listens to voice commands, whoa, walk on and trots beside handler. Easy keeper, no special diet requirements. Lives outside. Tyson learns new things quite quickly for a 2 year old. He will require a quiet, patient, knowledgeable handler and trainer to bring him along in his training and to his full potential. Tyson moves beautifully, smooth gates, beautiful transitions, floating trot, very sure footed. Very regal and natural position while trotting and cantering. Tyson is very gentle, he takes treats from a 4 and 6 year old and loves attention. Tyson is very easy to catch, you do not need to leave a halter on him in the field, he comes up to you and stands quietly while being haltered. He has never purposely been jumped, however did jump and clear a 4ft fence from a standstill with room to spare. He does however respect fence lines. The other horses were being ridden and he decided he wanted to be with them. Tyson will excel as a hunter/jumper, dressage or fox hunter. A circuit or trillium. He would also excel at driving. Tyson is a sweet gentle giant, well built with a nice conformation, but has a great deal of growing left to do and needs time for his body to mature. He has much to learn but will excel with the right training and we would like to see him go to an experienced trainer who will ensure he is given this opportunity. $2500.00 see http://www.NCAequine.com/tyson.htm
